Letter to Governor Mitt Romney (Re. O'Reilly Factor)
Dear Governor Romney,
In your appearance on O'Reilly Factor you stated, "... that doesn’t mean that all Mosques are preaching terror -- most are not, most are filled with love and compassion ...", see http://www.intelligencesummit.org/news/MR091605.php.
With all due respect, the statement is incorrect and dangerous.
Incorrect:
According to most respected terrorism experts including Steven Emerson, Rachel Ehrenfeld, Rita Katz, etc., about 80% of American Mosques are run by Wahhabis who support terrorism. That does not mean however, that 80% of American Muslims support terrorism.
Dangerous:
When statement like this comes from CAIR or a similar entity, nobody in their right mind pays any attention because everybody knows where CAIR's loyalties lie. However, when the statement like this comes from a respected Governor, people tend to believe it, which perpetuates the myth of American Mosques preaching peace.
If you need more information on the subject, I would be happy to send you some materials. I would also like to invite you to attend The Intelligence Summit Conference, which will be held in Arlington, VA, Presidents' Day Weekend (Feb. 17-20, 2006) where this and similar issues will be discussed at length.
Respectfully,
The Intelligence Summit
