Canada arrest in alleged terrorism case
TORONTO, Canada (AP)-- An accused terrorist wanted in the U.S. has been arrested in Canada.
Twenty-three-year-old Abdullah Khadr was picked up at his family's apartment in Toronto yesterday by Royal Canadian Mounted Police, acting on a U-S warrant. Police there aren't commenting on charges, but Khadr's lawyer says he's accused of plotting to kill American soldiers.
Khadr's father was an al-Qaida financier and was killed two years ago in Pakistan when a government helicopter shelled a house where senior al-Qaida operatives were staying.
Khadr has denied any involvement with the terror group.
