Italy Remains Target of Terrorist Attacks: Official

Italy may face terrorist attacks like London subway bombs last year that killed over 50 people, warned the chief of Italy's intelligence bureau Mario Mori on Thursday.

International terrorism remains a top threat to the country's security, said the official at an inauguration ceremony of a new training session for the country's intelligence personnel.

Italy's national security and intelligence departments are working hard in boosting coordination and finding effective measures in tackling the terrorist attack challenges facing the whole humanity, he said.

People should be well aware of the terrorist threats, as there is possibility of similar attacks on the Italian soil like those in Madrid and London, he added.

Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu also said recently that threats from international terrorist groups remained in the country, although the security departments arrested and expelled a lot of members of terrorist groups last year.
