Suspected islamist arrested on Spain's Costa del Sol
MADRID, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Spanish police arrested a suspected Islamist militant in the Costa del Sol resort of Benalmadena, counter-terrorism sources said on Saturday.
The man, arrested on Friday, is suspected of being linked to a network which funds the Algerian outlawed militant organisation the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat.
The suspect has been passed to the High Court for questioning, the source said, but gave no further details.
Spanish police have made a number of arrests of suspected Salafist militants in the past few months and arrested seven people suspected of funding them in December.
