Ukraine already used up monthly quota, Gazprom says

MOSCOW, January 26 (Itar-Tass) - A week before the end of January, Ukraine used up its monthly quota of natural gas, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said.

"By today, Ukraine has taken all the gas /from Russia/ due to it under contracts in January," Kupriyanov said in a live broadcast by Rossiya Channel.

The spokesman dismissed the suppositions that Ukraine has been taking extra gas with Gazprom's consent.

"One can hardly call as "consent" /our/ daily telegrams requesting to limit gas consumption, to give the opportunity to supply it in full to other countries," Kupriyanov said.
