Former Taliban leader shot dead in Pakistan: report
ISLAMABAD, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A former Taliban leader was killed by unidentified gunmen in southwestern Pakistan's Baluchistan province on Saturday, according to local press reports.
Mulla Samad Barakzai, head of Taliban's Department for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in southern Afghanistan's Helmand province, was shot dead in Quetta, the provincial capital of Baluchistan, the NNI news agency quoted his relatives as saying.
No one has claimed responsibility for the murder and motives behind it are not clear yet.
Barakzai has been living in Baluchistan since the fall of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
