Ethiopian army kills 111 rebels from Eritrea

THE Ethiopian army killed 111 rebels and captured more than 100 when they crossed over from Eritrea earlier in the month, the state news agency ENA said on 27 June, the AP reported.

A Defence Ministry official said the rebels were from a group known as the Patriotic Front. Ethiopia has frequently accused Eritrea of backing insurgents, but Asmara has called the accusations false.
