Al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia issued a statement dated Saturday, July 15, 2006, which announces the joining of al-Basha’er [The Good Tidings] to the organization, and brings “good news” to the Muslims and “jihad supporters”. The group states that this occasion will rally efforts in the jihad to extricate the “polytheists” from Saudi Arabia, and further, warns the “cros-worshippers” and members of the Saudi royal family of the harm they will see. The message reads: “Allah has left you a group to fight in His Cause; they love death as much as you love life and Allah is greater”.
Al-Basha’er is an information organization in Saudi Arabia which “takes care of” Mujahideen affairs, especially those returning from Iraq, and those wanted fugitives who “escaped with their faith” from Saudi Arabia. Their stated objective is victory for the Mujahideen and to cleanse Saudi Arabia of the “infidels,” establishing the Islamic Caliphate in their stead.
