Chechen militants ambush Russian soldiers

AT LEAST six Russian soldiers were killed and 20 wounded in an attack by militants in Chechnya on 4 July, the BBC reported. Their convoy was ambushed 30 km southeast of Grozny. A pro-rebel website said the attack was to avenge the killing of their leader, Abdul-Khalim Sadulayev in mid-June.
