Clashes reported in north-east Iran
Tehran, Iran, Sep. 04 (Iran Focus)– Clashes broke out between government forces and “bandits” in north-east Iran, according to the semi-official daily Jomhouri Islami.
Two “bandits” were killed on Friday in armed clashes with agents of the State Security Forces (SSF) in the town of Tayebad, Khorassan Razavi Province, the hard-line daily wrote in its Sunday edition.
In a separate incident, agents of the SSF killed an individual during an armed clash in the town of Khaf, the daily added.
Authorities routinely refer to anti-government activists as “bandits” and “trouble-makers”.
