US man arrested in plot to topple Vietnamese government

A VIETNAMESE-born US citizen was being detained on suspicion of plotting to destroy the US Consulate General and to overthrow the Vietnamese government, Reuters reported on 20 September.

Cong Thanh Do, a 47-year-old computer engineer from California, has been held since mid-August. His family say he was arrested for using the internet to call for alternatives to communist rule.
