Egyptian securitymen arrested for planning to sell bullets in Sinai - source
CAIRO, Oct. 2 (KUNA) -- Two Egyptian security personnel were arrested on Saturday for planning to sell bullets to a Bedouin in Sinai, said military sources.
According to Middle East News Agency (MENA), the unidentified sources said preliminary investigations showed that the personnel, a police superintendent and a private, were planning on selling the bullets to a Bedouin in Sinai.
The arrestees were referred to military prosecution for further investigations, noted the sources.
Claims by some media outlets that some Palestinians and Egyptian policemen were involved in smuggling weapons are baseless, they added.
After receiving information about potential terrorist acts in Sinai, Egyptian security bodies have tightened their measures through searching Bedouin areas and parts adjacent to resorts in Sinai. The police in Sinai have been on full alert.
