Daily Roundup of Terrorist Activity

December 2, 2005 Roundup of terrorist activity.

US and Iraqi troops launch joint operation in Ramadi, Iraq codenamed "Operation Shank". The operation is designed to disrupt insurgents ahead of Iraqi elections after false rumors of rebels controlling the city.

5 militants killed in an explosives accident in Pakistan's North Waziristan. An obvious sign of the success of the US-led war on terror is that more experienced terrorists are lacking as premature detonations of bombs are attributed by the lack of expericence in construction of the devices.

Yeman violence leaves 10 soldiers and 8 militants dead in the northern region of the country. The gun battle erupted when security forces detained a truck carrying arms and munitions destined for rebels of the shia cleric Hussein al-Houthi.

10 US marines killed in a Fallujah bombing. In a statement released in Falluja, the military said another 11 Marines were wounded in the blast caused by an “improvised explosive device” fashioned from several large artillery shells. Seven of those wounded have been able to return to duty, the military said.
