GEORGE W. BUSH ELECTED THANKS TO BROTHER'S RIGGING: Italy Minister
(AGI) - Rome, 14th April - U.S. president George W. Bush was elected thanks to rigging. This is what the Honorary President of the Republic, Francesco Cossiga, said in the program 'Confronti'. "I told Berlusconi", says Cossiga, that he made a mistake, above all on Wednesday, before during and after the meeting at the Presidential Palace.
He was complaining and saying: 'Why don't we form a large coalition? Maybe I won'. De Gasperi, continues Cossiga, knew that if he had called for a count of the ballots, the so-called 'fraud' would have gone in his favour, but he said, 'I'm not crazy enough to allow the Grenadiers to kick out the people in parliament.' Just because Bush was elected thanks to his much more intelligent brother's rigging in Florida, this is a fact. But even in that case, Kerry resisted for a while, but in the end he picked up the phone and gave him the win. Therefore, Berlusconi should have picked up the phone and called Prodi to congratulate him. He should not have said, we'll see now, maybe the votes are irregular, and so on...I'm convinced, adds Cosiga, that it's probably true that if we take another look at the ballots Berlusconi might have an advantage in the Senate. But can you imagine any young magistrate that has the courage to contradict the Italian press and all the powers that be to say that Berlusconi won? Berlusconi should elegantly pick up the phone and congratulate Prodi, he should go to the Presidential Palace and say: 'I'm no longer the Premier, I resign and I'm going to the Bahamas, where he has a comfortable house..'. It's not like that of course. We cannot permit ourselves to stay 40 days with a government that is not trusted by the people, it's just not possible. No one will believe Berlusconi if the courts agree with him in 40 days. Do you think that a young guy who found the way to work very little and make a lot of money by getting into the Magistracy is going to disagree with the 'Corriere della Sera', 'La Stampa' and 'La Repubblica'? Give me a break.." .
