Pakistan militants rally for islamic theocracy
THOUSANDS of activists from Sunni militant group Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan gathered in Islamabad on 7 April, calling for an Islamic theocracy across the world, Reuters reported.
The activists openly distributed leaflets preaching jihad and hatred against Shia Muslims. The rally was addressed by Zaheer-ul-Islam, a former general who was sacked and arrested in 1995 for trying to topple the government of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and aiming to install Taliban style rule. He said: "We will start establishment of a caliphate in Pakistan and then will do so across the word".
