Security forces agent killed in clashes in restive Iran province

Iran Focus Tehran, Iran, Apr. 05 – An agent of Iran’s State Security Forces (SSF) was killed during armed clashes with 10 young men in the western province of Kermanshah, the state-run news agency ISNA reported on Wednesday.

The agent was killed as security forces clashed with a group of 10 armed “trouble-makers” in the western region of Islam-Abad Gharb on Sunday.

The report said that the 10 men were drunk.

The SSF agent killed in the clashes was identified as Sergeant Danesh Abbassi. Another agent was also seriously wounded, the report added.

Soon after, three of the men were found and arrested.

Authorities routinely refer to anti-government activists or ordinary people deemed to act in un-Islamic ways as “trouble-makers”.
