BP wins permits to explore offshore oilfields in Pakistan
LONDON (AFX) - BP PLC said it has secured the licenses to search for oil and gas in three offshore blocks in Pakistan's Indus Delta.
The permits cover blocks U, V and W, which cover an area of 21,000 square kilometres.
'The offshore Indus Delta is a very exciting prospect for us, with a geology that our experience tells us has a strong potential for containing hydrocarbons resources, said Tariq Khamisani, president of BP-Pakistan.
