* Israel unleashes fierce air strikes on Lebanon, killing 49 civilians and one Hizbollah fighter
* Israeli troops cross border to raid Hizbollah posts and Hizbollah television says three Israeli soldiers are killed. Security sources in Lebanon say the clashes occurred during one of three cross-border incursions by Israeli forces.
* Boats and buses leave Beirut laden with foreigners fleeing the fighting
* Rockets fired from Lebanon land in Haifa, hitting house near seafront. A few people are wounded
* The fighting has killed 285 people in Lebanon and 25 in Israel
* U.N. envoys will suggest deployment of Lebanese troops in south Lebanon and enlarging international force there, diplomats say. The proposals will be presented to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan
* Diplomats say Israel wants another 14 days for its bombing campaign
