‘Dawood still working out of Pakistan’
Hindustan Times: UNDERWORLD DON Dawood Ibrahim, the alleged mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts and declared international terrorist by the US, still operates from Pakistan, says gangster Fazal-ur-Rehman, who was recently arrested by the Delhi Police.
During interrogation, Rehman let on about the D Company, information about its key men and even the location of its hideouts in Pakistan.
Rehman said Dawood often visited Dubai, with an entourage of security guards. It was in Dubai that they last met - at a funeral of Dawood's relative in 2002. Rehman said though he had been in touch with Dawood, he stopped all dealings with the gang a few years ago when he fell out with his brother Anees Ibrahim.
Rehman even claimed that if the news of his arrest had not got out, he could have got Dawood on line for the security agencies. "I could've contacted one of his confidants, who would have passed on the message to Dawood. Dawood, in my case, would have called back," he told the police.
