EU moves more troops to Congo due to unrest-Germany

BERLIN, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Some European Union military forces stationed in Gabon are being transferred to Kinshasa in expectation of further unrest in the Congolese capital, a senior German military official said on Tuesday

Asked if EU troops were preparing for further clashes, the deputy commander of EU forces in Congo, Admiral Henning Bess, told Reuters by telephone: "Yes."

"We have strengthened our troops (in Kinshasa). Some of the stand-by troops stationed in Gabon are already there and others are on their way," he said, speaking from Kinshasa.
