Pipeline blown up in explosion near Rajan Pur, Pakistan
(PakTribune) RAJANPUR: A pipeline supplying gas to Punjab was blown up with the use of explosive device near Mazari Goth, area of Rajan Pur in the wee hours of Saturday.
Amjad Lateef, Chief Engineer (Payes) of Multan Zone of Sui Gas Pipelines Limited while confirming the incident said that a 30-inch diameter of gas pipeline was targeted at 3 am on Saturday.
While talking to BBC, Amjad Lateef informed that this is a terrorist act. He said that the repair work on the affected pipeline has been started.
An official of Rojhan police station informed that it will be premature to say about the nature of the incident.
It may be recalled that Mazari Goth which adjacent with Dera Bugti is located on the conflux of three provinces Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh and in this area terrorist attacked gas pipelines on a number of occasions. The gas supply often suspended in these areas affected consumers on domestic and industrial level.
