Three Britons abducted in Gaza
ISN SECURITY WATCH (Thursday, 29 December: 10.34 CET) – Three Britons have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah.
The kidnap victims have been identified as Scottish human rights worker Kate Burton and her parents, who were visiting her.
Palestinian Authority security officials said that the trio had been abducted after crossing the Rafah Crossing into Gaza Strip. There are unconfirmed media reports that negotiations are under way to secure their release.
A series of kidnappings in the troubled Palestinian territory in recent months have all ended rapidly with the safe release of the abductees.
