European Arabs volunteer to fight Israel in Lebanon
A Belgian Muslim has volunteered to go to Lebanon to fight Israel. Belgian citizen Dyab Abu Jahjah is of Shiite Lebanese descent and former member of Hezbollah. In 2000 Jahjah, he founded the Arab European League, an organization assessed by many European intelligence agencies as extremist.
Jahjah said he wanted to go to Lebanon to fight "the Zionists," according to a message posted on July 13 on the Arab European League's website, the European Strategic Intelligence and Security Center reported Saturday.
The Arab European League is estimated to have approximately 1,000 members. It has urged recognition of Arabic as an official European language.
